Herley New York
(formerly General Microwave)

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Herley Industries acquired General Microwave corporation in 1999. General Microwave Corporation, operating as Herley New York, has been dedicated to the principle of offering high quality products that utilize and advance the state-of-the-art since its inception in 1960. A heavy emphasis on internal Research and Development throughout its history has led to the creation of a broad line of catalog products that include instrumentation such as power and radiation meters and solid state components such as control devices, phase shifters and oscillators. Among the numerous innovative products it has brought to market are: the first commercially available, broadband, thin film thermoelectric power meter; the first broadband microwave radiation hazard meters; the first broadband coaxial solid state microwave attenuator; the first digital peak power meter; and the first broadband solid state vector modulators/phase shifters.

General Microwave's catalog has become a well recognized source for state-of-the-art products.

PRODUCTS AND TECHNOLOGIES

Herley New York's core technology revolves around complex integrated microwave assemblies for primarily defense aerospace applications. Herley New York works with you and supports you with cost-effective solutions throughout the lifetime of your project. Herley New York has received both SBA and customer awards for on-time delivery, quality and performance. Currently, design and/or manufacturing of offered products are performed at other Herley facilities.

1. CONTROL COMPONENTS

Phase shifters, vector modulators, switches, attenuators and limiters, based on PIN diode and proprietary coupler technology, operating from RF to millimeter wave frequencies.

2. Sources

High-performance Synthesizers, voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) and digitally tuned oscillators (DTOs) in the microwave frequency range. The VCOs and DTOs feature fast settling time, low post tuning drift and low phase noise. The Synthesizers feature fast switching speed, excellent temerature stability and low phase noise. Custom oscillators have been developed for demanding airborne receiver, jamming, simulator and industrial sensor applications.

3. INTEGRATED MICROWAVE ASSEMBLIES

The offered Integrated Microwave assemblies, are based on high-performance amplifiers, mixers, and filters that are needed to build small, integrated assemblies, required by our customers.

Examples include: Phase and Amplitude control modules for simulators, consisting of MMIC amplifiers, IQ vector modulators, attenuators, switch filters, temperature compensation networks; DTO assemblies for airborne radar warning receivers, consisting of VCOs, switches, MMIC amplifiers, filters; radar transceiver assemblies for altimeters, consisting of VCOs, MMIC amplifiers, isolators, phase hitters, mixers and switches: broadband up/down converters, SSPAs, receivers and beam forming networks.

FACILITIES AND CAPABILITIES

The company operates under ISO 9001.
