Herley General Microwave Israel was founded in February, 1985 as a subsidiary of General Microwave Corporation, U.S.A. It was acquired, together with General Microwave Corporation, in January, 1999 by Herley Industries and now operates as Herley General Microwave Israel.
Since its inception, Herley General Microwave Israel (GMI) has been dedicated to designing and producing high quality microwave products that utilize and advance the state-of-the-art. This has resulted in the development of a broad range of high-performance microwave control components, sources and integrated assemblies. For many applications, the products described in General Microwave's catalog, an industry standard over the years, provide an excellent cost-effective solution. For custom applications, Herley GMI works together with its customers to develop optimal solutions for specific electrical and environmental requirements. After development of the product, Herley GMI continues to provide its customers with the highest level of support throughout the lifetime of the project.
HERLEY has acquired Eyal Microwave Industries ("EMI") based in Kibbutz Eyal in Israel. Eyal Microwave Industries is a leading supplier of a broad range of innovative, high-reliability, RF, microwave and millimeter wave components and customized subsystems, for the global defense industry. The new name of the company is HERLEY GMI EYAL LTD and it is operated as part of HERLEY General Microwave Israel Corp. ("GMIC").
HERLEY GENERAL MICROWAVE ISRAEL PRODUCTS
Herley GMI offers a wide range of high performance, yet cost-effective, single-pole single-throw (SPST) switches, single-pole multi-throw (SPMT) switches, voltage controlled attenuators (VCAs), digitally controlled attenuators (DCAs) from 0.1-40 GHz aqnd phase shifters and vector modulators from 0.5-24 GHz. These components are based upon PIN diode and proprietary coupler technology.
OSCILLATORS & SYNTHESIZERS
HERLEY General Microwave Israel has developed a full line of high-performance microwave sources. These includes Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs), Digitally Tuned Oscillators (DTOs) and synthesizers. These sources cover the frequency range of 500 MHz to 18 GHz. The catalog line of sources are specified in this site. In addition, many custom sources have been developed and produced to meet specific requirements of our customers. These sources have been designed to meet the demanding requirements of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems used in airborne and naval systems.
- Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs)
Herley GMI offers a catalog line of high performance VCOs from 2-18 GHz with octave and half-octave frequency coverage. These VCOs feature fast settling time, low post-tuning-drift and low phase noise. Custom VCOs have been developed and produced for fiber optic communications and industrial sensor applications.
- Digitally Tuned Oscillators (DTOs)
Herley GMI offers a catalog line of high performance DTOs from 0.5-18 GHz, with half-octave to multi-octave frequency coverage. These DTOs feature fast settling time, low post-tuning-drift, high accuracy and low phase noise. In addition, numerous custom DTOs have been developed and produced for demanding airborne radar warning receiver (RWR), ESM, jamming and simulator applications.
- Frequency Locked Oscillator (FLO)
Our FLO product line is an enhancement of our DTOs. The FLO products have the wide band features of the DTOs; however, as they are frequency locked they have better accuracy over temperate, better settling time and low aging.
- Fast Indirect Synthesizers (FIS)
Based upon the high performance DTOs and VCOs described above, Herley GMI has developed a broadband 2-18 GHz Fast Indirect Synthesizer (FIS) for demanding airborne EW and simulator applications. The FIS features a dual mode capability and can operate either as a synthesizer with 25 microsecond settling time, or as a high-speed (1 microsecond) free-running DTO. A low phase noise version has also been developed for ESM and other applications.
INTEGRATED MICROWAVE ASSEMBLIES
By combining the technologies utilized in the products above, Herley GMI has designed and produced compact, multi-function integrated microwave assemblies for both military and commercial applications. Of particular note is the recent development of a state-of-the-art millimeter wave integrated transmit/receive assembly.
